I love LesJoueurs Photographybecause of the clear creativity and high quality photos that are presented when all the editing is done after being apart of the production. So far I have been lucky enough to work with the main in charge of LesJoueurs two times for 2013 and some magic has been created. The professionality is so amazing and the bottom line is that their is not much playing around. My breath is just taken away at my make-up artistry along with the outcome.
On a side-note: When I showed another make-up artist this look for a vintage clothing store they told me that the eyes were overkill or too much as though something was wrong. I love this image and it is quite alright and what makes it even greater is that my style is different and I am not you. The looks are not at you the model is looking right, eyes gazing above.
What a wonderful Tuesday that past and I had the perfect look for a meet-up or going to a book signing. I had the chance to meet Alice Walker, the author of The Color Purple and other stories. I had quite a afternoon of waiting in line in hopes of hearing her read and than to get her to sign my wallet. I left happy with a photo of me and Alice Walker and her autograph. For this signature look to stand out I used NARS satin lip in "Yu" and CoverGirl Queen collection in "jade". I most definitely stood out more than I would have wanted because as I was in line people could see me taking pictures from inside Busboys and Poets on 14th and V St. NW. How appropriate that Eatonsville was right across the street inspired by another talented author, Zora Neale Hurston.
I always wanted to experience what it feels like to have a hairstyle that gives a true representation of dreads and I created this look, I like to call Medusa. I looked up all the ways of doing extension dreads and the best way for me was to use yarn. This hairstyle is such a phenomenon because you can have the look and feel of dreads without the hair being locked up. I am definitely impressed with the results and all the other varieties I have seen on YouTube videos. I love how my look came out and I choose a bright magenta yarn that was the closest color that matched my own hair at the local beauty supply store. Since this was my first time trying the extension locs I decided on short and thick parts, which took me about 18 hours to complete. My Medusa look did not come out perfect like some tutorials I have viewed but wonderful for my first time. The supplies needed: 1. 100% Acrylic Yarn ( have to cut the length you want to use.) 2. comb 3. scissors 4. measurement tool ( legs, rules, chair etc.) 5. hair conditioner ( I used a Anti-Breakage Spray and Oil on my strands) 6. lighter is optional 7. Oil or moisturizer
This is before my natural hair straightened out or stretched out.( Purple hue faded sort of)

Grocery Store
Purchased the item on the left at Safeway on sale for less that three bucks. Both can be found at your local grocery store, CVS or Rite-Aide.
Loving the first look from African Creature......
Above is a great tutorial.
Now, if only I could come up with a video explaining to people that they must beware to look me in the face or they will turn to stone. More on the Greek Mythology of Medusa. Also, if you are into Chinese culture and astrology it is the Year of the S-S-S Snake after all.

I mean Wal-Mart has a lot to offer and they beat the prices of Target along with other stores that offer low prices. Wal-Mart is the center of some small towns and neighborhood supermarket. For the first time I got my eyebrows waxed at the nail salon in one of the Super Wal-Mart's which now have McDonald's fast food restaurant, nail salons, banks and other goodies such as auto repair shop. The only thing that I was wearing on my face was some moisturizer and Milani Color Statement lipstick in Fruit Punch which is the best way to make a statement when you are stressed out. Not only are the colors nice but the lipstick leaves the lips feeling moist and smells good. Neutrogena has really good products out, made just for acne that may want to pop up when we feel stress. and to deal with stress means cleansing. Technology is supposedly suppose to make life easier but it seems to make things more complicated. The time that has passed from April to May has brought some trauma to my skin or at least leading to the point of my eyebrow wax. My first wax after graduating from the Aveda Institute as well and I choose none other than Wal-Mart and I like how they came out.

After...Looking and feeling much better
Very pleased after the shape up with Shade 11 "Fruit Punch" on my lips
Hair and make-up done and my eyebrows are looking fresh
Lately, I have made a attempt to wear false eyelashes which started for December. Honestly, I am not the best when it comes to applying them on myself but with others it is a easier task. My preference is natural lashes that grow out of your follicles but of course in the business of beauty you have to get artificial sometimes. Here are two looks for me with one being more playful and pink, while the other was a little more dramatic with neutral tones. The first look was more colorful with blush and pink lips while the other I had bronzey eye-shadow and shimmery lips. The secret weapon for my eyes were Ardell Double Up false eyelashes, black mascara and dark pencil eyeliner. My face wasn't picture perfect ready to be published in a fashion magazine, especially in my daytime pink flushed look. All pictures of me taken with camera phone and it's all bout the lash lines.
