Afterwards

Once again I have another tale to share because yes God continues to work wonders in my life and I am blessed with so much gratitude. Anyways, this is the third day after my fast and I have been enjoying my food with the suprise that my body has definitely changed after my one month of fasting. I am not sre if my stomach is smaller or something is going on with my intestines but I know that I trained myself to eat less and be complete with smaller portions than before. I am more than thankful for this change and to be rescued from the American apetite that can be the main cause for all of the terrible health conditions.

Just to let you know that while I was on my fast I had no problems when it came to getting rid of toxins and waste that was no benefit to my body.

I may have been on the greedy side a little from enjoying food from one of my favorite restaurants and than going to a cookout afterwards. All within a five hour period I had yams, macaroni and cheese, cornbread, fried fish, baked beans, potato salad, half of a turkey burger and one fried chicken leg to "celebrate" Labor Day or just enjoy a American holiday. Well to my amazement the food did not sit well with me at all, because I was completely stuffed that in the midnight hour around 12:10 AM I akoke to pain right at the top- middle part of my ribcage. I did not even know what was going but I just knew the pain was excruciating and so bad calling 911 was the first option that came to mind. I just thought of the possiblities of this pain as maybe being caused from Gas or something going on with my small intestines. Well than I realized the fact that I do not even like hospitals, and being stuck in the Emergency Room is something I don't want to deal with so I called on my creator, the one and only Lord who is my heavenly savior. I said, " Oh Lord, my God I ask of you to take this pain away from me. Oh please I do not know where this is coming from and I just want this to go away." Of course God is so good and always on time with answering prayers that right away I knew what to do. The simple solution was that their was waste in me waiting to get out and all that was needed was a bowel movement. I mean wow amazing how after that the pain was instantly gone and this was something that could not be removed on my own, it took me asking my Lord for help.

I know it was not only me on my own alone that got me through my fast and of course I received help from my higher, most intelligent heavenly creator to remove the internal waste that was causing me pain. I find this story kind of funny and put a smile on my face to just think, " Oh God to get rid of this pain all that I needed was to sit on the toilet and take a s*&t!".

I tell you I was happy and filled with tears of joy because my God knows how much I love to avoid hospitals and being around sick people. How amazing to know and believe in the most powerful being to solve your problems which happened for me in the midnight hour. When you feel you can't go on or just need a extra push their is no help like that from God, his son and the Holy Spirit.

Maybe this story may have  a reader responding in a way as maybe Jasmine Darling should have used the bathroom before falling asleep or........the truth is I didn't feel the need to use the bathroom before falling asleep.

The bottom line or moral of this is that one of the best benefits of fasting:

1. No constipation

2. Decreases or lessens appearance of cellulite

3.Trimmer waist

4.Slimmer thighs

5.Radiant skin with smaller pores

6. sweeter blood which helps the mosquitos

Here are 10 other benefits of fasting.

Wild Week in Washington

What a wild and wacky past week it has been in DC to say the least bit. There were situations that involved spirits that wanted to cause a commontion of becoming weak just to be overcome by the enemy. How amazing to recognize the energy that people carry and that can be transfered over to someone else easily. In life we all have to stay strong so that we can not be overcome by the enemy that wants to cause turmoil and rather have everyone fight each other. I find it amazing all the energy that people were carrying just leading up to the Mrs. Carter tour.

This is how it is in every situation and scenario that plays out I am realizing. The key is to take a look outside of yourself when someone may threaten you or is evidently in bad spirits and you ask your self do I take the high road or just decide to be bad or let the negative energy transfer to you. I recently went through a situation like this that someone had the audacity to get mad at me because I had my legs cross and maybe that day just was not there's, so I ignored the bad spirit and meditate on this situation. Of course the wild intent of that someone passed and the energy must have been strong that the energy passed on to another causing commontion. I saw clear as day how people could let bad spirits take over them to disturb all the other passengers and of course I had to get off of that bus like many others. I felt threatened on the bus and well to the point that I wanted to get away from the person next to me but the bottom line is that I did get away from the confusion. Lesson from all of this as I reflect that God does work in mysterious ways and if we pay attention we really do have a lot to be thankful for.

From my wild and wacky week I am reminded that we can choose if we react with sugar or with more spice; but you really have to be prepared for all the possible outcomes that may feel bad or feel good. All of the past events including me undulging myself on some good eats has lead me up to my fast for major cleansing that is needed.

I have eaten lamb from one of my favorite spots to Lemon Pepper Catfish and Peach Cobbler from BSmith's. The last week of July has led up to my final choice in fasting with only drinking juices, smoothies and water to nourish my body.
Three tries to get things right, that's how my luck works out @ The Coupe and in life.

No more lamb, or seafood and vegetation for my cleanse.

Natural look for such a wicked week in Washington

All photos were taken by me and I am looking forward to August as a chance to shed some pounds from consuming so many toxins.

Crazy in Love with NEONS

Wearing bright clothing and especially neon colors is all the rage for the summer. I love being crazy in love with Neon clothing that is light and bold. Something about neon screams young and free.

YO

Yoga overdrive is the only gear that I want to be in and have been trying to understand lately. When I first started college I attempted to get into it because it was a way to workout, because you really can break a sweat and I sweat quick when it comes to yoga which is not common for me when I workout.

Now that I am getting older and time catches up to me I realize that there are so many energy forces that can knock me off of balance. Besides meditation yoga is the key to me having balance in my life which makes perfect sense since I am into Eastern medicine and all the healing practices the Eastern Hemisphere has to offer.

DVD released by  Yoga Journal with Natasha Rizopoulos is Session one, a Step-by-Step guide  and Bikram Yoga has allowed me to get reacquainted with what I have been missing out on.  So now I discovered who started Bikram Yoga, Bikram Choudhury himself and his book has so many great poses that help those with cancer and other diseases such as obesity.  Bikram yoga has 26 poses to practice as well as two signature breathing techniques.

With discipline and practice all the yoga practices can be done at home with no need for a teacher just a book or dvd.

Mental Health Month

In honor of Mental Health month I just want to let you know that you can be happy and hopeful about your life.

I have completed reading Susan Nolen-Hoeksema, Ph. D book Women who think too Much: How to Break Free of Over-thinking and RECLAIM YOUR LIFE and browsed through another of her books exploring how Women who are depressed fall into addictions. What a privilege it is to recognize and understand how people think, especially women. All of the books below are a study of society and how the role of a women has allowed her to tolerate the torment of over-thinking in a nutshell.  Just a side-note: In Beyonce's Life is But a Dream I love how she describes that a lot of her songs are to empower women and a sort of "escape" from reality like "Run the World (girls)". Although we are living in a man's world, a woman does have a lot of power.

One of my favorite quotes from Bob Marley which was on a shirt I loved is, "Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds!"

All of her books are definitely recommended and the best help comes from self because everyone possesses their own personal power. Being happy and well is what life is about and anything less is unacceptable.

Crown/Bliss Chakra

One of the most important Chakra's would have to be 7 which shows enlightenment and connecting to one's spirituality. The focus is on top of the head and when meditating the sound that should be made is, "Om...Om...Om...Om...and Om."

When feeling down or not completely connected which may cause physical and mental challenges such as stress, nervousness, fear and depression. When this chakra is balanced their is peace, connection to higher planes, spirituality, strength and joy at the wonders of life.

All elements are associated with this Chakra but especially Fire, and the Fire astrological signs as well. It is good to keep a internal fire burning, have a candle lit or incense and make use of angelica, elemi or frankincense.

Specifically good for meditation- go figure.

The color associated with this is violet.

More info about the Crown Chakra

The seventh chakra is know as the crown chakra and is situated on the top of the head or crown area. This chakra is represented by the colours violet or white Sahasara mandala and is also symbolised by sacred spirits. The seventh chakra is the foundation of our spiritual body and links us to the highest guidance, the creation. It influences spiritual will, inspiration, idealism and celestial knowledge it is our connection with the universe. This chakra physically influences the cerebral cortex, cerebrum, central nervous system, glands and the pineal gland, pituitary gland and hormones related to them.
When the crown chakra is balanced we are released from ego driven desires, we are able to trust in our highest guidance and know that we are guided in all that we do.
If this chakra is not working properly we will still be guided but this guidance will probably be ego influenced rather than from our highest guidance this can cause us to become unsure of our self's, reducing our self confidence and creating fear and anxiety. It can create negative influences in the physical this can be seen in the form of apathy and problems with the understanding and retention of knowledge. Physical problems which may occur are headaches, worry, anxiety, immune disorders, metal and cognitive problems.
When open this chakra feels as if there is a small amount of pressure, pulling or tugging at the crown of the head. The seventh chakra balance is affected by the balance of the previous six Chakras.
