I love LesJoueurs Photography because of the clear creativity and high quality photos that are presented when all the editing is done after being apart of the production.

So far I have been lucky enough to work with the main in charge of LesJoueurs two times for 2013 and some magic has been created. The professionality is so amazing and the bottom line is that their is not much playing around.

My breath is just taken away at my make-up artistry along with the outcome.

On a side-note: When I showed another make-up artist this look for a vintage clothing store they told me that the eyes were overkill or too much as though something was wrong. I love this image and it is quite alright and what makes it even greater is that my style is different and I am not you. The looks are not at you the model is looking right, eyes gazing above.

NGT

  I got to work on the nugget or NGT which stands nor natural gel twist. Yes I love giving new names to things because I am different and like no other. This was my first time attempting this but I found it to be easy after I watched a You Tube video. Now I look and see another way of doing this, and that is the great thing about NGT is that the look is neat and glossy but some may look more like spiral curls while others may look like coils. My try at the NGT was more of a coiled look and these can easily be the start of growing dreads.


Now my client specifically did not want gel so I was like the perfect alternative would be Bees Wax which worked great and I added a little gel or spritz. You can find some inspiration from this video.

Interesting it took me about four hours to complete the NGT after shampooing and conditioning. While getting all the supplies set up I had some company and while doing hair my client had a good read. After seeing my results and understanding how the process works I realize that the next time I do the hairstyle it will be much quicker and who knows I just might use my fingers opposed to a comb.

The moral in life as it is with the NGT is "To keep things Juicy".

Studio Life

I love photo shoots that are done in the studio and I recently worked with Isaiah Headen for the first time at his place of employment and later in the day, Interface Media Group close to Dupont Circle. Usually the setting of photo shoots is on location at a borrowed home, but the point is that there was natural sunlight. Working in a studio means that everything is controlled to a certain extent of not having to deal with the weather outside. I absolutely love  the studio life and watching a person transform before my eyes because of my special touch.

What a pleasure it was working with a nurse from Ohio and her modeling the designs from Tidal Cool Creations. I love the professionality (making up my own word) of Isaiah and how candid photos are taken of what really goes on behind the scene to have a creative image. Of course I was caught working on the left lash, took me three tries to get the lash to stick and stay. There was something magical about this time besides it being in the evening, better to be late than never. I always like to know what the theme is but didn't really know what to expect except that I would be going for a dramatic look opposed to more natural which I love. I decided on a bold eyebrow because I knew that would frame the face really well to go with all of the curly hair going on. 


Full of color, wigs, lights, heels and skin to make for a fun shoot that brought back some memories of when I use to model. Lots of powder, concealer and foundation works wonders and I know that it feels like a lot is packed on the face but when it is all said and done, the camera needs to catch perfection. For a high drama look with skin to be transformed to smooth and flawless than some extra effort has to be put forth. The final images will be amazing and I look forward to sharing them.

Makeover for this Month

For the month of May, I got things started off with a makeover using none other than Mary Kay products. This look I was going for was a sun-kissed look. I did a makeover on Ashleigh a Mary Kay beauty consultant for a contest that will be open for votes May 10, 2013. Below is my story and one word that explains my entry. "I am someone who believes in the beauty of nature and loving who you are flaws and all. I love it when someone is true to themselves and I know that every woman can be content, which is tough when someone is insecure about their self. In a society that sends mixed messages of beauty I know that true beauty is a feeling more so than looks."

If you notice that in the before photo she blends in with the background and the wall seems to  be giving more light than her. In the after photos she is very sun-kissed and the focal point that attracts the eyes to her. Mary Kay mineral bronzing powder was applied to define her cheekbones and all over the face after applying the foundation. At the very end Mary Kay loose powder was applied to set the makeup. My favorite of all of the products was the cream shadow because it reminded me of Maybelline cream gel color tattoo eye shadows that are long lasting up to 24 hours or just about water proof.

The brown mascara really brings out her eye color and  hair color. Nice golden brunette look that is very glowing.
