EMC

Extra moisturizing and conditing is the name of the game when it comes to taking care of color-treated hair. I am the type that loves to color my hair because that allows things to be exciting and vibrant when it comes to my look. When you chemically or color treat the hair than that can cause more dryness, so of course moisture is the key.

My most favorite and beloved shampoo that I am using comes from L'Oreal EverPure line which is just like lotion for the hair, I mean really what I feel must be what liquid silk is like. The results are great because instantly you can feel the difference in the smoothness of your hair. Using the EverPure Sulfate-free conditioner is optional but when it comes to my natural ethnic hair I use Mizani products.

Here is the whole EverPure Collection and you can use whatever according to your hair needs.

My two conditioners of choice are Mizani's Moisturefuse and Fulfyl which are both under L'Oreal, so either these products are high quality.

Then to finish off your hair style this Shine Spray works wonders....

PP & M

What a pretty pedicure and manicure done all by me. The great thing about this is that I know it will last longer than what is done at the local nail shop arond the corner in any neighborhood.

I used this as the base coat but it can also be used as top coat as well

"First-Timer"

Top of the line Top Coat that gives the nails the same effect as Gel without the UV light.

For a pedicure I charge $30.00

Lasts for two weeks +

Vibrant Color

I missed my purple haircolor so much I had to go back to it. There is just something so irresistable about vibrant rich hue and purple really fits me well. I was going for a deep purple like grape jelly but mines came out more of a cherry pie filling color.

Not my photo, but the perfect purple that is more on the deep blue side.

my results

Looks very red-purple and more cherry depending on the light

All choices from Kiss Express

This is the key to getting your hair color to last and stay vibrant. Yes, I really do love L'oreal products because they work.

Color of the Day

For the past couple of days it has been raining since monday which is good to cleanse the and refresh the Earth. I am loving the rain and how it can be cool or fall down when things feel steamy and humid. Oh how the weather outside can seem frightful with the thunder and lightening; but I say "let it rain, let it rain and  let it rain."

Revlon Colorstay in Rainforest is amazing and this is my first time wearing it and how right for a Friday. The polish is such a great hue and lays on thick so two coats should be the maximum and then a top coat which is optional.

Beach Blonde

I am loving my new hairstyle although this is not exactly what I am used to since I have never been this blonde. However, this haircolor is so perfect for Summer and carefree.

Going Lighter

I wanted to go blonde for the summer like a neutral, cool blonde and I ended up getting the color I was going for while attending Aveda. Amazing how I got a nice cool beige color going on with the remains of violet that look lavender or light purple and pink. This was a two-day process or more like twenty-four hours   after a night's rest in between. I could have always went to a salon to get the color but of course I know myself very well and trust my effort to get the effect I was going for. My favorite motto is why pay someone for something you can do yourself. The color I ended up with I would like to call a Rose Gold Blondish color and is not the lightest I want to go. When it comes to going lighter there is a process that takes some time.

The first thing that I did was try out a natural way of bleaching to see how much of the purple would get out or just lighten up which I made happen. I looked and searched all over the internet for ways to go from purple to blonde and than to naturally make my hair blonde. My findings as it always is, was on YouTube.  I am pretty sure that I would not be able to find a salon one can enjoy a history lesson and some Beyonce explaining her B-Day album and the behind the scenes making of of the music being put out. For a dramatic change involving going Blonde, why not watch a real life dramatic DVD?

So I am what you call a "high yeller negro" had to match my hair up with my skin tone

The first things you have to realize is that I started off with dark and very vibrant color so the ends did not get to the level I wanted. Of course the hair closer to the roots was the virgin hair so it got much lighter, kind of yellowish using a mixture of Hydrogen Peroxide 3% and Baking Soda. What gave me this idea was a video similar to this YouTube video below. My hair got much lighter because I let the mixture sit for about a hour,  probably longer than I should have but I got the results I wanted.

I recommend this method for all natural kinky textured hair types or if you have very fine hair because this is less damaging than using bleach dye to go blonde and you save so much money!

Anyways I will review how I started from a bright purple pinkish hue to a nice cool blonde with a light pink residue pigment from the semi-permanent color placed on top of my bleach hair done by a student at Aveda Institute.

later added this on to the ends and massaged it in.
