 Diamond is the strongest gemstone that comes from the Earth and can only be smoothed by another diamond. To not be that large in size, Diamonds are harder than steel and stronger than granite. Made of pure carbon, crystallized by intense heat and pressure in the earth's interior and forced to the surface by volcanic eruption, Diamonds can be found in Australia, Angola, Botswana, South Africa and other areas .Find out more about Diamonds on Geology.com
